Natalie Walker: Urban Angel -- When I read about the song of the siren luring seafaring men to their doom in classic literature, I imagine singing like that of Natalie Walker. Her vocalization is gentle and sweet to the ears, and the only word I can find to describe her voice is dulcet.

John Wheeler: Big Orange --  John Wheeler is a self-professed uncompromising artist. I believe him after hearing his story and listening to the new CD, Big Orange. The title refers to a saying one of his coworkers used to have when it was to time go get a drink. The fascinating and colorful cover is a picture taken at the Tate Modern Museum in England. The picture is actually upside down and cropped. The people you see littered about actually lay down on the floor to see  their own reflection coming off the ceiling.

The Whipsaws: 60 Watt Avenue -- From start to finish The Whipsaw’s newest release “60 Watt Avenue” (2007) is a breath of pure country and rock n’ roll air. With this album, the Whipsaws produce a diverse, original, and laid-back sound that grabs the attention of any listener immediately. Blending roots, rock, blues, country, alternative, folk and Americana, their music is of an authentic and in-depth breed of music similar to Drive By Truckers, Uncle Tulepo, Wilco, Ryan Adams and Neil Young.

Tom Willner: Rescue Me -- Tom Willner’s Rescue Me is a fine album because of several things, but primarily because of its consistency. It gives you those warm and fuzzy feelings right out of the gate. The lead off and title track is a funky rhythm filled romp as good as it gets. It is the best choice of tracks to kick off the album. The following track “If Women Ruled the World,” is a great tribute to the female of the species, all set to a reggae beat. This music is all about life and relationships.

Ann Wilson: Hope & Glory -- Ann Wilson is the other half of the legendary rockers Heart, and she is no exception to the rule of making an ultimately career-capping recording at this stage of her career. Why not put the icing on the cake then get right back to rockin’ down the house again? Heart is coming out with some new music soon and sister Nancy and their band are waiting in the wings to rock again so standby for more.

Johnny Winter: I'm a Bluesman -- For more than 30 years, Johnny Winter has been at the forefront of modern blues and blues-rock, and his new I'm A Bluesman disc, arriving June 15 from Virgin Records, figures to add to his Texas-sized reputation.

Micah Wolf --  Michah Wolf’s music is as tranquil and beautiful as his natural surroundings in Hawaii. After around the third spin of this CD this music and the lyrics finally started to soak into my over worked cranium. Wolf comes across with a gentle approach yet he still gets his point across in a song.
